About Us

Whether students want to improve job skills, transfer to a four-year institution, or complete a credential and enter the workforce, Edgecombe Community College provides the edge to help students succeed.

With campuses in Tarboro and Rocky Mount and classes online, the College serves about 8,000 individuals annually in its two-year degree, diploma, certificate, and continuing education programs. First-rate courses in healthcare, business and industry, and arts and sciences provide practical skills and enable graduates to excel in their careers, homes, and communities.

In January 2020, the new Center for Innovation on the Tarboro campus opened for classes. This facility is enabling ECC to better develop and sustain a skilled manufacturing workforce. The Center for Innovation is providing high school and adult student populations with hands-on access to the latest technologies and practices found in advanced manufacturing today.

Workforce development has always been central to the mission of Edgecombe Community College. Teaching and learning in academic programs, basic skills, continuing education, the Small Business Center, and customized training for business and industry focus on preparing students for successful careers.

Since its founding in 1967, Edgecombe Community College has been committed to fulfilling the education, training, and cultural needs of the Edgecombe County community and surrounding areas through education and training that are both relevant and life enhancing.
